The Children and Youth Programme promotes access and enjoyment of rights by children and young people through conducive environments for progress.
MASO TeamWe strengthen community-based child safeguarding mechanisms to protect children from violence and ensure access to basic rights like education, protection, and birth registration. Young people are empowered with vocational skills for economic self-reliance, reducing vulnerability to drugs, sexual exploitation, and other risks. We create platforms for advocacy, peer-mentorship, and proactive community engagement, while capacitating communities with positive parenting skills and income-generating activities tailored to local needs. MASO's Children and Youth programme focuses on holistic development, including early childhood education (ECD) initiatives that prepare children for school and life, youth leadership training to build confident leaders, and support for vulnerable children through community care systems.
Key activities include: Conducting ECD graduations to celebrate milestones in children's learning, organizing planning meetings with youth to design community projects, implementing vocational training programs in various trades, and running awareness campaigns on child rights and protection. Through these efforts, MASO ensures that every child and young person in Zimbabwe has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in a supportive environment.
